Additive Manufacturing Lead Applications Engineer at Eaton
Multinational power management companyEaton Corporationis looking for an Additive Manufacturing Lead Applications Engineer to join its aerospace division’s additive manufacturing team. The role can be based at any one of Eaton’s Irvine, Grand Rapids, Los Angeles, Jackson, Euclid, or North Charleston facilities, or can be worked remotely.
The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and developing specific 3D printing capabilities in the Fuel and Motion Controls (FMC) division of Eaton Aerospace, and will lead the implementation of the division’s new additive manufacturing strategy. The role will also involve providing Design for Additive Manfuacturing (DfAM) training and guidance to product engineers.
To be successful for the role, applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree in engineering or material science from an accredited institution alongside a minimum of three years’ experience of leading aerospace engineering projects and using CAD. Applicants must also have a minimum of one year of experience within metal additive manfuacturing.

Moving onto facility news, and advanced materials firmArkemahas confirmed it is on track to begin production at its new plant on Jurong Island, Singapore, in the first half of next year.
The company claims that, when complete, the site will be the largest integrated bio-factory in the world dedicated to high-performance polymers. Arkema will begin production of its flagship bio-based high-performance Rilsan PA11 polymer at the new plant in 2022, for which production will reportedly be 100 percent derived from renewable castor beans.
该公司已投资总计5.45亿美元n the region, having successfully placed its first green bond in October for a total of $363 million to finance the plant, which will enable a 50 percent increase in Arkema’s global PA11 capacity.
“We are excited to maintain the momentum and speed of construction,” said Erwoan Pezron, Senior Vice President, High Performance Polymers at Arkema. “After facing early challenges due to the global pandemic, we are operating at full strength and are now entering the peak construction phase with an estimated 2,000 workers on-site during the summer months.”
