CBD-Tech launches CHITUBOX Pro V1.1.0 for faster resin slicing and huge data volumes

CBD-Tech深圳发展loper of control systems for the 3D printing industry, has launched the latest version of itsCHITUBOX Pro slicer – V1.1.0.

The new software comes complete with a whole host of new feature upgrades designed to streamline the resin 3D printing workflow, including faster slicing and saving speeds, improved intelligent support functionality, and much more. The company has also fixed a number of bugs pointed out by the community, making for a cleaner part slicing experience.

A CBD-Tech spokesperson said, “Since its first version was announced, CHITUBOX has won the favor of 3D printing users far and wide. However, as demands for updates keep rising, and SLA/DLP/LCD technology also undergoes a rapid development towards larger workpieces and higher display resolutions, the CHITUBOX team also needs key breakthroughs to better facilitate our users.”

Cross-platform support and faster processing

The first of the major upgrades is cross-platform support. As well as Microsoft Windows, CHITUBOX Pro can now also be run on macOS and Linux for the first time. Additionally, users can share one license across three different computers, although each of the devices has to be running a different operating system.

With CHITUBOX Pro V1.1.0, users will also now benefit from faster processing speeds. According to the firm, the latest version of the slicer has been optimized to deal with large volumes of 3D model data, generally making for smoother menu navigation and less stuttering, especially on high-resolution builds for 8K 3D printers.

There should also be a noticeable performance improvement when it comes to part slicing and saving, greatly enhancing the efficiency of the 3D printing workflow. Furthermore, CHITUBOX Pro V1.1.0 features revamped island detection functionality, resulting in higher part qualities.

Improved supports, print time forecasts, and languages

Looking at some of the quality of life upgrades offered by CHITUBOX, the latest release is equipped with an improved auto support algorithm. The company states that this will greatly increase build success rates by better detecting overhangs and islands, and auto-generating extra cross bracing structures for risky sections of parts. A simple press of the Tab key will also enable users to instantly cycle between the preset support settings while providing real-time visualizations of the differences.

CHITUBOX Pro V1.1.0 also brings with it a more accurate print time forecast, which allows users to better plan out the scheduling of a multi-build project. The company has even worked with dedicated translators to improve the Korean and Italian language options in the slicer, making the software more accessible for international customers.
