Previously,Dr. Christian Haecker, Head of Additive Manufacturing Industrialization at Oerlikon, told 3D Printing Industry, “The main challenges for industrialization include the integration of AM in the existing value chains, global issues of IP and knowledge sharing, as well as the current political climate which pushes us away from globalism.”
“Therefore, a joint effort of EU and state institutions, partnering more than ever with platforms like the MTC will accelerate the industrialization of AM.”
The MTC3 agenda
On the first day of MTC3, a new pre-conference networking event will allow 3D printing startups to pitch their ideas. This will commence with an opening speech from Professor Hofmann, Dr. Roland Fischer, CEO of Oerlikon Group, and Dr. Helmut Schönenberger, co-founder and CEO ofUnternehmerTUM。

The MTC3 Workshop
On the third and final day of MTC3, participants can engage in interactive workshops led by the MTC3 partners to directly exchange ideas on solving additive manufacturing hurdles. This will include an Oerlikon-lead workshop on today’s metal AM market, and the current and future customer requirements.
