3D Systems launches online sale of sub $5000 FabPro 1000 3D printer

3D Systems’ entry-level industrial 3D printer, the FabPro 1000, is now directly available for sale through its own e-commerce site.

Previewed November 2017 at the3D Systems HQin Denver, the FabPro 1000 is an SLA 3D printer with a price tag ideal for adoption by small-medium enterprises (SMEs).

“The FabPro 1000 checks all the boxes on professional designers’ and engineers’ wish lists for entry-level 3D printing,” saysPhil Schultz, Senior Vice president and General Manager, of , 3D Systems on-demand manufacturing and plastics.

“Yes it’s a compact device, but it’s also a powerful integrated solution.”

The full SLA package

Alongside the FabPro 1000, 3D Systems are offering a range of specialized materials and peripherals, completing a “one-stop” solution for any businesses looking to invest in the machine.

LC-3DPrint盒是3 d系统的后固化单元, required to remove any resin residues after printing, and the LC-3DMixer is an accessory designed to create the perfect material mix before pouring into the machine.

The purchase of a standalone machine (before any peripherals are added) includes a finishing kit, online activation of the company’s optimized 3D Sprinte Client software, and a 1 kg bottle of FabPro Proto GRY material – a general purpose plastic for high0quality prototyping.

Other materials available for the system include FabPro Tough BLK, for functional part testing, and FabPro JewelCast GRN, highlighting the machine’s ability to 3D print fine features suitable for jewelry making.

3D Systems FabPro 1000 technical specifications and pricing

The FabPro 1000 has a build size of 125 x 70 x 120 mm/4.92 x 2.76 x 4.72 in (XYZ), and unpacked dimensions of 43 x 43 x 61.2 cm (16.9 x 16.9 x 24.1 in). Layer thickness and vertical build speed varies depending on material used. As an example, with JewelCast GRN 0.030 mm (0.001 in) layer thickness can be achieved, at a rate of 5.3 mm/hr (0.21 in/hr).

A single FabPro 1000, with 1 year warranty and no peripherals costs $4,995. With both accessories included (The LC-3DPrint Box and Mixer) you’re looking at a price of $7,120.

Meeting all the markets

Through the introduction of theNextDent 5100 3D printerand supporting materials, 3D Systems has recently been ramping up efforts in the dental market – an area that is seeing anincreasing amountof activity.

The company has also newly launched anOn Demand Anatomical Modeling Service, reaffirming its position as a 3D leader of medical.

The FabPro 1000, Schultz asserts, is designed to deliver “high quality parts quickly and efficiently with a low Total Cost of Operation.”

“To make these advantages even more accessible,” he adds, “we’ve launched an e-commerce site for FabPro 1000.”
