Conveyor belt 3D printing start-up iFactory3D completes funding round, “infinite possibilities”

iFactory3D highlighted that through the built-in conveyor belt and smart camera technology; products can be 3D printed in large quantities around-the-clock without supervision.

iFactory3Dis a Düsseldorf-based 3D printer manufacturer and maker of a conveyor belt 3D printing technique for “infinite” 3D prints. The company’sOne Pro 3D belt printerreceived over 600 individual private investors’ commitments totaling over one million Euros onCompanisto, an investment platform for startups and growth businesses.

Enterprises across numerous industries have already chosen 3D belt printers from iFactory3D, which offer a flexible way to eliminate supply bottlenecks for critical components without needing additional staffing – according to the company. These industries range from the automotive industry to mechanical engineering, medical technology, and toolmaking.Artur Steffen, CEO, and Co-Founder of iFactory3D, said, “When you know that this device gives you the freedom to implement virtually anything you want directly and independently, the next steps will seem much easier. So you’re not buying a 3D printer, you’re buying infinite possibilities.”

“The great interest in our technology tells us that the world of production is changing and that we will be an active part of its redesign. With Companisto, we have chosen a strong partner. We’re pleased that you don’t have to go to the U.S. for visionary ideas and that more than enough forward-thinking entrepreneurs are ready for something new in Europe as well,” said the iFactory3D CEO.

Conveyor belt 3D printers

Conveyor belt 3D printers are FDM/FFF printers that can produce 3D printed parts larger than the machine itself, with the belt moving the build surface. For example,Blackbelt’s 3D printer, combines three print heads with conveyor belt technology. The Z-axis of theBlackbelt 3D printertakes the form of a conveyor belt, while the X-Y actuation system holds the printer’s three print heads.

Elsewhere, for itsCR-30FDM system, Chinese 3D printer firmCrealityran a Kickstarter campaign that raised over $1 million. The3DPrintMill, a conveyor belt-based device, was created in collaboration withNaomi Wu, a tech YouTuber. According to Creality, it can 3D print with materials including TPU and PETG and operates at a 45º angle with a maximum temperature of 240ºC.
