Latest business partnerships

Process automation software providerAuthentisehas announced a partnership with Israel’sProsper3D, an automated quoting platform for additive manufacturing service bureaus. In the agreement, Authentise Additive Accelerator customers will be given seamless access Prosper3D quoting engines.

U.S. based 3D software company and resellerGoEngineerhas become an official channel partner for Israeli PCB 3D printer providerNano Dimension. Recently, GoEngineer also entered intoan agreementwith advanced manufacturerFATHOM.

Manufacturing services providerVisser Precision, based in Denver, Colorado, has just confirmed an order of threeEOSM 400-4 and two, newly-released,M 300-4systems.

At the recent Formula 1 Pirelli 2018 United States Grand Prix, metal additive manufacturing service provider3rd Dimension Industrial 3D Printingconfirmed its first order of anAdditive IndustriesMetalFAB1 system.

AndAleph Objects, Inc., producer ofLulzbot brand desktop 3D printers, has been named one of six new Alliance Partners of the National Center for Defense Manufacturing and Machining (NCDMM). Founded in 2015, the purpose of the NCDMM is to deliver advanced manufacturing solutions to the defense industry. Ralph Resnick, President and CEO of the NCDMM (and founding director of America Makes) comments:

Art, aero-engines and afterlife

Beast of the Anthropoceneis the latest art project incorporating 3D printing byDov Ganchrow, product designer and senior lecturer at theBezalel Academy of Arts and Design, Jerusalem. A series of cow skulls manipulated into surreal shapes, Ganchrow’s work is part ofStratasys‘ “New Ancient” collection that previously showcased the work ofNeri Oxman.

Additive manufacturing has reportedly been used to optimize the weight ofGE‘s supersonic business jet engine Affinity. The initial design phase of the engine was recently completed and its first flight is expected in 2023.

And Liverpool startupKoffinis looking to raise £50,000 on Kickstarter to launch its custom-made, 3D printed, biodegradable coffin business…

3D printing for humanitarian challenges

Antibacterial 3D printer materialsdeveloperCopper3Dhas been invited to work on Health, Innovation and Industry challenges set by theUnreasonable Group, a business investment firm that specializes in targeting “the world’s toughest challenges.” In the first step of this process, Copper3D is to take part in the 3018 Unreasonable Group summit from November 7 through 12.

In India,Tvasta Manufacturing Solutionsand theIndian Institute of Technology Madras(IIT-M) are seeking to commercialize a construction 3D printer for building houses andtoiletsfor theSwachh Bharat mission.

BeAM and Empa launch research, Yissum allocate $9 million development fund

In research,BeAM, the DED 3D printer manufacturer companyrecently acquired by AddUp, has signed an agreement withEmpathe Swiss Federal Laboratories for Materials Science and Technology. Together, BeAM and Empa will seek new applications for DED technology.

AndYissum Research Development Company, of theHebrew University of Jerusalemhas footed $9 million for nanotech innovations with a focus on quantum science, renewable energy and 3D printing.

New 3D printer availability

An upcoming ‘Special Buys’ sale atAldiin Australia will feature a Cocoon Create 3D printer for $211 USD. The German supermarket chain previously ran a sale of theCocoon Create 3D printer for $499 USD, over double the price.

The AccuFab-D1 DLP 3D printer has made it as the latest release from Chinese 3D technology companySHINING 3D. A compact system measuring 394 x 406 x 755mm the AccuFab-D1 is designed for use in dental laboratories.
